What Print Size Should I Choose?
Deciding on the size of the art print you are going to order can seem overwhelming at first, but there are a few ways to make this decision easier.
First and foremost, measure the wall space where you will hang the print. A general rule of thumb for hanging artwork over a piece of furniture: you don't want the print to be wider than the furniture.
One guideline is to leave 3/8 of the width of your art on each side of your area. You may have to read it again (we did!). Here's another way to look at it: The art should take up 4/7 of the selected space. Since this isn't a fraction we see very often (if at all), use this math trick to get the size art you need: multiply your wall space (in inches) by .57 (4/7 turned into a decimal). So say your area is 36 inches -- you want to look for art that's 20-21 inches wide.
Once you know the dimensions of your wall space, take a look at the print size options for the photo you have in mind at my collections. Using masking tape, measure and mark out a couple of different print sizes on your wall, so you can see exactly how much space the print is going to take up, and whether or not that size looks right for your space. This step alone is helpful in making the right print size choice.
Another excellent tool that will help you decide on a size is the "Wall Preview" tool in my collections. If you click on any photo in my collections you'll notice a blue button to the right of the image marked "Wall Preview". Click on that, and you'll be able to see how different print sizes look in various rooms, including a living room, bedroom, nursery, conference room, sitting area, cafe, reception/lobby, or restaurant. You can even change the wall color to match the paint color on your wall, so you can see if the print will match well in your room.
One thing to bear in mind: if you are planning to order a framed print, the finished framed size will be larger than the print size. The framed size will depend on the mat and frame you choose.
What is the quality of your prints?
My fine art photographs are printed using state-of-the-art, professional inkjet printers and premium photo papers, and will last a lifetime when displayed in normal conditions. Prints can be ordered unframed or framed. Unframed prints will be shipped securely in a rigid mailer or art shipping tube. Framed prints are assembled by a professional framer using archival mat boards, solid wood frames, and UV-resistant, anti-glare glass. Canvas gallery wraps are printed using bright white cotton canvas, and the canvas is then stretched over a wooden stretcher frame, and finished with a clear, matte liquid topcoat for added protection, durability, and print life. Metal prints are printed using thin, rigid Chromaluxe aluminum panels, and mounted with a wood float block on the back for hanging. The image is infused into the metal using a dye sublimation process, resulting in a visually stunning, sleek, modern piece of art. Acrylic prints are printed using an inkjet process on Epson glossy photo paper, and the print is face-mounted to a 1/4" thick piece of acrylic glass, with a 3mm thick piece of PVC backing. Canvas gallery wraps, metal prints, and acrylic prints do not need to be framed, as all of these come ready-to-hang with hanging hardware installed.
